As part of Olympic year 2012, I invented "extreme hockey dribbling". To date, I've raised well over £62,000 for various charities. It all started with a 5hr 30min dribble around the London Marathon raising money for WellChild. Things were to get far more ludicrous in 2014 when we decided to dribble hockey balls up and down the 3 highest peaks of the British Isles. With a fantastic support team, we raised nearly £10,000. The most random thing of all? ........ Radio interviews on BBC5 Live halfway up Scafell Pike.
Despite advancing years, I was back in 2017 supporting Hockey4Heroes as we embarked on 'Operation Stretcher.' 200 miles of dribbling from Cardiff to London whilst the H4H team carried Dom Lovett, a former marine now paraplegic all the way on a stretcher. (as well as playing 3 games a day at various clubs on route).
2019, the year of the amazing Op Olympus! Documented in detail elsewhere, dribbling a hockey ball high on the Annapurna range in the Himalayas. And in 2022 and 2024, The London Marathon. I'm raising funds for Alzheimers research supporting my friend Imran Sherwani and many others. Imran has been diagnosed with dementia and we sadly lost my mum in June. It seems that everyone is somehow directly or indirectly affected by this horrible disease. In 2025 I plan to run in tribute to my Mum whose last couple of years were severely impacted by dementia. Following the 2024 Marathon, I went viral on tiktok to my amazement and have now been nicknamed "Officer Dribble!"

200 miles, 10 days, 44 people, 30 games of hockey.
On May 26th 2017, the Hockey4Heroes team embarked on their most epic challenge. They carried an injured former Royal Marine 200 miles from Cardiff to London, stopping off at 10 hockey clubs on route to play 3 games a day. It all began in Cardiff and finished in Marlow on Sunday 4th June.
As an charity ambassador and dedicated extreme hockey dribbler, I dribbled a hockey ball for the duration, 200 miles behind the stretcher.
A great cause, £63,000 raised for Help for Heroes.

In 2019, a joint hockey4heroes and Lincoln Minster School group travelled to Nepal to embark on a challenge to enter The Guinness book of records for the highest game of hockey at 5200m at Thorong La, high in the Annapurna Range in The Himalayas. I dribbled a hockey ball all the way up to the site of the game. On way down, the chance to visit some Nepalese schools to introduce them to hockey and leave some hockey equipment. It was an incredible trip, Nepal is an amazing country, memories for life and a place in the Guinness book of records.
